Team of professor Onoda Yasuaki of Disaster Reconstruction Desing and Management of IRIDeS has been collaborating with Ishinomaki City to discuss, organize, and achieve their reconstruction plan from after the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.

The team is consisted of Associate Professor Hirano Katsuya, Ubaura Michio, Research Assistant Kobayashi Teppei, Technical staff Imamura Yuki as experts of architecture, civil engineering, urban planning.
For the exhibition of public forum, we reported our project by posters and overview report, “Practical Efforts for Disaster Recovery in Ishinomaki City, Miyagi Prefecture”.

Many people from all over the world such as Morocco, China, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Uruguay visited our booth. Their profession varied from university officers, students, NPO, government workers, employees.

The practical research for Ishinomaki City has received much interest not only from domestic experts but also foreign ones and other various professionals. We would like to further enhance the future research activities.

Outline

This exhibition features the actual situation, challenges, and good practice of whole reconstruction process. We have been collaborated with Ishinomaki City to discuss, organize, and achieve their reconstruction plan. This is an exhibition highlights sharing the value and creativity with the audience by showing interdisciplinary works in collaboration with civil engineering, urban planning and architecture experts.
