We were successful to share not only research outputs on probabilistic tsunami risk assessment but also educational activities for disaster risk reduction organized by Tohoku University and Tokio Marine Industry-Academia collaborative research project. This is a good example on collaborative project to improve community resilience and encourage disaster risk reduction related activities.
OutlineTriggered by the Great East Japan Earthquake, Tohoku University established Earthquake-induced Tsunami Risk Evaluation (Tokio Marine) Endowed Research Division at International Research Institute for Disaster Science and is exploring community resilience improvement through industry-academia collaborative researches.
In this event, outcomes of risk evaluation, tsunami evacuation research and disaster prevention education will be presented.
